The wine shows a moderate garnet colour. The nose is smoky, opening up with nuances of dried cherries, dried cranberries, figs, prunes, a touch of pomegranate and rosehip. Very complex and multi-layered. The palate is fresh and minty, almost saline, offering a pleasant umami sapidity. Despite the age there is still a lot of freshness, which balances well the elevated alcohol and bold, grippy tannins. The finish lingers long with an earthy, saline note. Very compact and precise wine, not fading at all.
