Hubert Brochard, Château de Fontaine-Audon, Sancerre Terres de Silex 2023 – Sancerre

The wine has a very pale lemon yellow color, with slight green highlights. The nose is a little reserved at first, but expresses liveliness and a tangy structure of citrus (lemon zest, lemon juice, lime) and green apple, combined with a mineral, limestone, chalky and smoky touch. After aeration, we also find notes of tangy apricot, acacia, a fine touch of brioche, as well as acacia and dried white flowers. The palate is straight, tangy and expresses a racy minerality in its slightly dry chalky texture and limestone and smoky notes of flint. We also find a lively tanginess of fresh citrus (lime, lemon, grapefruit) and green apple, combined with a hint of passion fruit, gooseberry and white flowers (dried linden, acacia). The finish is persistent, mouthwatering and tangy, with a bitter hint of grapefruit. A lively and taut wine.
