Herédias Reseva 2020 – Douro

The wine has a deep ruby color. On the nose, it offers pronounced but refined woody and spicy notes (liquorice, a hint of vanilla and cinnamon, toasted hazelnut, smoke), associated with a floral touch (peony), herbaceous notes (rosemary) and juicy fruits (morello cherry, red cherry, black plum, blackcurrant, wild strawberry). The palate is gourmand, round and fruity, with a pronounced oaky notes (smoke, toasted wood), which appears in the mid-palate. We also find notes of morello cherry, black plum, wild strawberry, crushed raspberry and sweet spices (nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon). The tannins have a fine grain, but are rather tight and grippy. The finish is medium persistent, fruity and tangy, with a delicate touch of white pepper.
