Hawks View – 2017 Barrel Select Pinot Noir – Chehalem Mountains, Willamette Valley

The nose is fruity and offers a beautiful elegance, a beautiful power/deepness as well as a very beautiful finesse of the grain, intensity and complexity. It reveals notes of black plum, blackberry and small notes of small blue fruits associated with fine touches of cornflower, hints of nutmeg, mild tobacco leaf and a discreet hint of camphor. The mouth offers a very beautiful finesse, a beautiful definition, precision as well as richness. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of ripe/fleshy blackcurrant, ripe/fleshy black plum, small blue fruits associated with fine touches of cornflower, violet, fine hints of camphor, wild raspberry as well as very discreet hints of nutmeg, vanilla and spices. Good length. Tannins are elegant and structuring. A beautiful persistence with a fine power and a very discreet hint of caramelization.
