Guaspari – Syrah / Vista da Serra 2015 – Espirito Santo do Pinhal, Brasil

The nose is spicy and offers concentration as well as a fine freshness. It reveals notes of gray pepper and violet combined with hints of crushed blackberry, crushed raspberry, touches of cassis as well as discreet toasted hints. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, tight, (very) slightly gourmande and offers minerality, a small suavity, straightness, a fine freshness as well as a fine unctuosity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, cassis and small notes of red berries associated with touches of violet, laurel, hints of gray pepper as well as discreet toasted hints and licorice. Tannins are well-built and a bit firm. Good persistence. There is an imperceptible touch of chocolate on the aftertaste.
