Grand Vin du Château Latour 2022 – Pauillac, 1er Grand Cru Classé

Grand Vin du Château Latour 2022 – Pauillac, 1er Grand Cru Classé

The nose is elegant, nicely deep, precise, airy and nicely spicy. A pretty multi-layered / 3-dimensional side. We find notes of violet, crushed cassis and small notes of fleshy Gariguette strawberry associated with touches of small roasted-elegant fruits, delicate hints of Penja pepper as well as fine hints of nutmeg, almost aromatic herbs, a delicate hint of star anise / star anise, a discreet hint of lilac, racy gravel and a subtle hint of sweet spices. « Crazy » complexity ! The palate is well-built, supple, nicely fresh, nicely mineral and offers a tangy frame, precision, tension, accuracy, a side of enveloping/enveloping, fruit brightness and energy. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/elegant cassis, fresh blueberry and small notes of ripe cranberry, associated with touches of crisp strawberry as well as hints of sweet blond tobacco, star anise, nutmeg, fine hints of aniseed and a hint of almost eucalyptus. The tannins offer a lovely mellowness. Good length. Discreet hint of cocoa bitterness on the finish/persistence. Beautifully tangy persistence (with a subtle, almost sappy edhintge). Beautiful tannic charge with elegance and precision.
