Giuseppe Cortese Rabaja 2021 – Barbaresco

Giuseppe Cortese Rabaja 2021 – Barbaresco

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is a bit discreet, finely spicy and herbaceous. It expresses notes of wild strawberries, crushed raspberries, red currant jelly, a touch of cranberries and dried blackcurrant in the background, combined with delicate spicy and herbaceous hints  (liquorice, cumin, dried mint, sage in the background) , as well as floral notes (dried rose, violet) and a discreet minerality. The mouth expresses verticality and accuracy. We find flavors of tart red cherry, crunchy strawberry, crushed raspberry, a touch of wild blueberry, as well as notes of sweet spices (liquorice, cumin), aromatic herbs (wild mint, sage) and flowers (dried rose, violet). The tannins are finely tight, but velvety and have a fine texture. Good persistence on the palate, with juiciness, pleasant bitterness and refreshing acidity.
