The wine has a bright ruby color, of medium intensity. The nose is delicate and refined, but with liveliness and a tangy, macerated hint in its fruitiness. It expresses notes of red cherry, red currant, raspberry, macerated red cherry, garnet, as well as morello cherry jam in the background and crushed strawberry. After aeration, we find notes of chocolate morello cherry, smoke, a savory herbaceous hint with a roasted touch (bay leaf, dried thyme, dried peppermint, roasted bouquet garni), toasted hazelnut, as well as a sweet hint of peony and iris in the background. The palate is straight, concentrated, fresh and juicy. It expresses notes of red cherry, cranberries, garnet, and raspberry, combined with notes of smoke, toasted wood, a mineral framework (dry stone), licorice, white pepper, as well as blackcurrant leaves and dried mint. The tannins are fine-grained, but have a firm and grippy texture. The finish is quite persistent and offers a lively tangy and bitter grapefruit framework, as well as a light touch of peony.
