G.D. Vajra, Baudana 2020 – Barolo

(organic) The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose expresses the freshness of tangy fruits (bigarreau cherry, cranberries, raspberry), a touch of dried blackcurrant and crushed black plum, a fine floral bouquet (rose, lilac, lily), herbaceous notes (peppermint, a touch pine needles), as well as hints of spices (liquorice, nutmeg, fruity vanilla in the background). The palate is straight, vertical and tangy. It expresses notes of tangy fruits (bigarreau cherry, blueberry, raspberry, blackcurrant in the background, bitterness of cranberries), associated with herbaceous touches of peppermint, blackcurrant leaf in the background, and a fine spiciness (liquorice, white pepper, nutmeg) and a floral bouquet (rose, lily, lilac). The tannins are tight, a bit grippy, but have a fine texture. The finish is fresh, tangy, with good bitterness, a slight toasted touch and lively acidity.
