The wine has a pale ruby color. The first nose is fragrant, finely spicy, with refined notes of dried flowers and a juicy fruitiness. It expresses the aromas of white pepper, clove, liquorice and cumin, combined with notes of dried rose, lilac, as well as fine herbaceous hints (wild mint, rose leaf, a fine resinous touch of pine sap) and torrefaction (mild coffee and lightly toasted wood in the background). The fruits on the nose are fresh and tangy: we find notes of bigarreau cherry, raspberry, red plum, crunchy strawberry, red currants and blueberry. The mouth is enveloping, silky, velvety and textured. The attack is fruity and ample and offers flavors of morello cherry, blackberry, black plum, blueberry, crushed strawberry and raspberry coulis, associated with notes of liquorice, cumin, white pepper, chocolate mint, dried rose, peony, sweet coffee and toasted hazelnut. The tannins are very soft, but quite powerful. Beautiful refreshing and salivating acidity. The finish is long, sapid, chocolatey and fruity – it expresses notes of cherry in chocolate and a touch of prunes, refreshed by a touch of wild mint on the finish. Very nice texture on the palate: powdery, fleshy and rich, while remaining fresh and refined.
