Francone Barbaresco Albesani 2021 – Barbaresco

Francone Barbaresco Albesani 2021 – Barbaresco

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is precise, with tension and a fresh and tangy fruity material, combined with a racy minerality of limestone rock and dry stone. It expresses notes of dried red cherry, crunchy morello cherry, fresh strawberry, fresh cherry, blackcurrant, as well as crushed red currants. After aeration, the gourmand and sweet notes of blackberry, sweet spices (vanilla, grated nutmeg, white pepper), roasting (coffee with milk, toasted almond) and cocoa appear, accompanied by aromas of dried herbs (dried shower mint, dried rosemary). The palate is straight, tight and tangy, but at the same time, juicy and gourmand. It expresses the flavors of candied fresh cherry with a pleasant bitterness, morello cherry, sour red cherry, dried cranberries and crushed raspberry, as well as toast (toasted hazelnut, toasted almond, coffee bitterness), spices (liquorice, grilled vanilla, nutmeg), a floral touch (peony, dried iris) and herbaceous (wild mint, dried rosemary). On the finish, we find a lively salivating acidity, which balances the firm and grippy tannins. The finish is persistent, tangy and chocolatey – on notes of cocoa nibs and chocolate cherry. Good solid structure and good aging potential.
