Francis Blanchet « Les Débuts » 2023 – Pouilly-Fumé

Francis Blanchet « Les Débuts » 2023 – Pouilly-Fumé

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color. The nose is juicy and tangy, opening with notes of ripe citrus (lemon, blood orange zest, grapefruit), complemented by sweet touches of passion fruit, pineapple, and yellow apple, as well as a hint of gooseberry. There is also a subtle smoky and chalky minerality in the background, as well as notes of hay, quince, and flowers (dried wildflowers, linden, acacia). The palate is precise, tangy, and slightly bitter on the attack, thanks to flavors of grapefruit and lime, which appear first. Then there are flavors of yellow lemon, green apple, gooseberry, passion fruit, and quince, combined with notes of apple blossom, acacia, and a touch of limey minerality. The finish is persistent and lively, with sharp acidity and a touch of chalk. A precise and fresh wine.
