Francis Blanchet Calcite 2023 – Pouilly-Fumé

Francis Blanchet Calcite 2023 – Pouilly-Fumé

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color. The nose expresses a distinguished and precise minerality in the salty, smoked flinty and calcareous notes. After aeration, we also find the slightly bitter aromas of lime and grapefruit, as well as green apple, gooseberry, passion fruit and a vegetal touch of green beans in the background. The palate offers a chiseled and tangy attack, which expresses notes of lemon, grapefruit and green apple, a mid-palate more on stone fruits and green fruits (white peach, a hint of green apple, gooseberries). The finish is mineral and slightly vegetal: it expresses notes of limestone, flint and a touch of saline, associated with a hint of gooseberries. Good persistence in the mouth, with saline notes and a good bitterness of lime.
