The nose is structured, a bit restrained and offers a slight power. The wine needs to be put in carafe. It reveals notes of blackberry, violet and small notes of Sichuan pepper associated with small touches of wild raspberry, small wild fruits, scrubland (thyme …) as well as hints of cocoa, vanilla and almond. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, tense and offers a good definition, gourmandise, juiciness, a small acidulous frame, a beautiful finesse, roundness, a beautiful suavity /juiciness as well as a very slightly tight grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy raspberry and small notes of blueberry, strawberry associated with touches of crushed/ripe wild red berries, hints of vanilla, toasted / caramelized, discreet hints of almond as well as an imperceptible hint of cardamom and olive / olive tree. Tannins are fine, well-built and slightly firm / chewy. There are notes of chocolate, liquorice, almond and vanilla on the persistence (bring gourmandise). (2020+)
