The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is aromatic, savory, spicy and slightly roasted. It expresses aromas of roasted morello cherry, roasted raspberry, fresh morello cherry, as well as a bitter hint of fresh cherry. There is also a precise but integrated spiciness (liquorice, grated nutmeg, Timut pepper, which brings a refreshing touch of citrus). The second nose is floral and perfumed (violet, a sweet hint of peony), complemented by touches of roasting with a good bitterness (toasted almond, coffee, a hint of toasted hazelnut skin). There are also delicate touches of chocolate and roasted bouquet garni. The palate is straight, well-built, with a solid tannic structure, slightly grainy and grippy tannins, but balanced by a lively acidity. The attack on the palate is on the good bitterness of fresh cherry, coffee and toasted raw hazelnut. The notes of juicy fresh fruit open up more in the mid-palate (red cherry, raspberry, morello cherry, a hint of tangy blueberry), and are complemented by touches of liquorice, bitter chocolate, dried aromatic herbs, roasted bouquet garni and spices (Timut pepper, nutmeg, liquorice). The finish is persistent and delicious, with notes of roasted fruit and a hint of bitter chocolate. A wine with a good tannic structure and a lively acidulous frame, but with a closed aromatic profile.
