Feudo Montoni – Vrucara 2019 – Sicilia DOC

The nose is beautifully elegant, precise, frank, sincere and offers concentration (full of accuracy), a nice textured side, purity… a beautiful moment where we are cut off from the world. We find notes of ripe wild blackcurrant, quite ripe purple plum and small notes of blueberry associated with touches of roasted-juicy small red fruits, discreet hints of liquorice stick, balsamic as well as a subtle hint of sense of place (local biotope) and almost an imperceptible hint of roasted cherry. The palate is beautifully mineral, fresh, elegant, well-balanced, precise, sincere, lovely juicy and offers a good bitterness in the background, a crystalline side as well as purity. A wine whose fruit flirts nicely with a roasted-juicy side. A certain darkness in freshness/juiciness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/bright purple plum, star anise and small notes of roasted-juicy cherry associated with touches of purple fig, small wild fruits, sense of place (local biotope) as well as a subtle almost bitter orange hint, mocha, toast and sweet spices. A subtle chewiness on the finish/persistence. Outstanding persistence (+12 “caudalies”).
