Feudo Maccari – Family and Friends 2020 – Terre Siciliane IGT

The nose is fruity and reveals a certain richness and influence of oak. There are notes of crushed apple, vine peach and, more lightly, crushed white berries, combined with hints of toast, racy minerality and fine, almost oceanic, white flowers and a discreet hint of fresh vanilla. The palate is fruity, mineral and offers freshness, some linearity, tension, a fine airiness in the approach and a certain richness counterbalanced by a nice juiciness/acidity of the fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of lemon, juicy/pulpy peach and more slightly yuzu combined with delicate notes of starfruit, fresh/flavoured quenette as well as fine toasted notes, a discreet hint of vanilla as well as a subtle mineral and almost white liquorice touch. A discreet, almost tannic touch on the finish.
