The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is fragrant and offers a distinct mineral framework (gravel, limestone, graphite), a refined fruitiness with notes of fresh fruit (griotte, bigarreau cherry, crunchy strawberry), candied fruit (raspberry coulis, cranberry jam, candied blackcurrant) and dried fruit (dried blackcurrant, dried red cherry), a fine herbaceous hint (thyme, dried mint, dried basil, rosemary, a touch of sage) and floral bouquet (dried rose, violet), as well as envelopped notes of sweet spices (liquorice, cardamom, cloves, white pepper, nutmeg), a hint of tobacco, undergrowth, a delicate touch of torrefaction (coffee) and smokiness of bergamot. The palate is enveloping, with a nice concentration of fruit, a firm, but refined structure of tannins, thanks to their fine grain. It expresses notes of ripe fruit (griotte, bigarreau cherry, strawberry, raspberry coulis, crushed blackcurrant, cranberries), savoury sweet spices (nutmeg, liquorice, cloves, cardamom, vanilla in the background), flowers (rose fresh, dried rosé, violet, lilac), aromatic herbs (rosemary, pine needles, peppermint, thyme, fresh basil in the background and finish), as well as a fine hint of torrefaction (toasted bitter almond, ground coffee), notes of undergrowth and tobacco. The finish is sapid, gourmand, slightly bitter and complex. Freshness, salivating acidity and a firm side but not drying tannins. Good aging potential.
