Fazio – Calebianche 2024, Catarratto – Erice DOC

The nose is fruity, elegant, precise and racy. It offers a certain aromatic depth, with a lovely broad palette of aromatic herbs. It reveals notes of sage, dried mirabelle plum and small notes of dried apricot, associated with fine hints of oregano/verbena as well as a discreet, almost fresh spicy touch. The palate is beautifully fruity, its offers a tangy frame, minerality, juiciness, acidity, energy and tension. It is precise, vibrant and finely coated at the same time. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of tangy peach, small crisp white fruits and small notes of small exotic fruits, combined with a touch of apricot as well as an almost kumquat-like hint and a fine hint of toasted, beeswax and a discreet hint of verbena and orange blossom in the background. It also offers a fine saline character in the background, roundness and a little fat. Good length. Good structure, with a subtle, almost tannic hint, in both aroma and structure on the finish/good persistence. A hint of creamy, almost nutty aftertaste.
