The wine has a medium-intensity ruby color with slight garnet reflections. The nose expresses gourmandise, the juiciness of ripe fruits and the sweetness of roasted red berries. We find the aromas of roasted red cherry, roasted red currant, raspberry coulis, fresh strawberry, morello cherry, red plum, a fine smoky side of bergamot, spicy notes (white pepper, ground nutmeg, cumin ground, a hint of liquorice and toasted vanilla), a touch of roasting (coffee, toasted hazelnut), as well as a floral (iris, fresh rose) and herbaceous (mint, thyme) nuance. The palate is straight, frank, well structured, with a suave, warm and gourmand attack. We find the flavors of roasted red cherry, wild strawberry, crushed ripe morello cherry, raspberry coulis and crushed blackcurrant (with a hint of crème de cassis), combined with notes of dried mint, thyme, basil, cherry in chocolate, bitter cocoa, ground cumin, cloves and toasted vanilla, as well as a floral touch (dried rose, peony) and torrefaction (coffee, toasted hazelnut). The finish expresses a slight bitterness, a touch of balsamic, as well as structured, but soft tannins and a nice acidity. Tasty, nice tangy and fresh persistence.
