The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity, with slight garnet reflections. The first nose is finely spicy: it expresses notes of sweet spices (ground cloves, liquorice stick, cumin, toasted vanilla) as well as a hint of pepper (white pepper) in the background. We also find herbaceous hints (dried Mediterranean herbs, thyme, dried mint, dried rosemary, a hint of fresh tobacco), a floral touch (fresh rose, cornflower) and a tangy fruitiness (dried red cherry, fresh bigarreau cherry, morello cherry, cranberries, raspberry, crushed blackcurrant). The palate is enveloping, rich, but straight and chiseled, with a lively acidity which refreshes roasted notesof the flavors and powerful, but fine tannins. It expresses notes of roasted red cherry, morello cherry blackberry, raspberry coulis, cranberry jam, crushed strawberry and black plum, combined with notes of dried peppermint, dried basil, thyme, rosemary, liquorice, grilled vanilla (in the background), ground cumin, nutmeg, dried rose, peony, as well as dark chocolate, chocolate cherry and a touch of torrefaction (coffee, cocoa). The finish is persistent, juicy, with a good bitterness, power and harmony.
