The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The wine is discreet on the nose and needs to be aerated. It then expresses notes of fresh tobacco, fresh tea leaf, sweet spices (a slight touch of vanilla, clove, nutmeg), as well as a hint of wilted rose, basil and tapenade. We then find notes of wild strawberry, morello cherry, red cherry jam, crushed blueberry, wild blackberry and wild plum, as well as a hint of crushed mint leaf. On the palate, the wine is velvety, with a round attack, but the mid-palate and finish are firm and tannic. The round and slightly sweet flavors help balance the structure of the wine. We find notes of ripe strawberry, morello cherry, cranberry syrup, raspberry coulis, bitterness of cranberries, as well as notes of licorice, clove, nutmeg, white pepper, dried rose, fresh tobacco and black olive and a smoky hint of bergamot on the finish. The acidity is lively and salivating. A straight, firm and powerful wine, which still needs to round out.
