The wine shows a bright ruby-garnet colour. The nose is opulently woody, slightly oxidative with notes of dried and cooked red cherries, a touch of rose and geranium, some lavender, with sage, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg in the echo. The palate is juicy, showing balanced acidity and a nice oaky spiciness. It opens up with nuances of wood bark, coffee, cherry liquor underlaid by savoury hints of rosemary and bay leaf. The finish is enveloping, spicy and warming.
