Ettore Germano Vignarionda 2020 – Barolo

Ettore Germano Vignarionda 2020 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is perfumed and offers complexity and concentration in elegance. We first smell the herbaceous notes with a hint of evolution (dried mint, dried laurel, dry tobacco, dried rose, faded flowers), complemented by a juicy fruitiness (red cherry, red currants, raspberry, blueberry, a hint of dried fresh cherry) and a spicy and minty touch (licorice, cardamom, nutmeg, pine needles, menthol). We also find a racy minerality, which is expressed after aeration (tar, limestone rock), as well as a gourmet touch of iris and fresh peony, complemented by a hint of chocolate morello cherry. The palate is airy, juicy, open and savoury. The attack offers tangy fresh fruits (red cherry, raspberry, cranberries, strawberry, blueberry, a hint of citrus fruits – grapefruit and bergamot), associated in the mid-palate with herbaceous notes (peppermint, fresh tobacco), floral (fresh rose, a hint of dried rose) and spicy (licorice, crushed cardamom, black pepper in the background). Tannins are enveloping, sapid, tangy and firm, well-constructed and fine. The finish offers chew and freshness, a chocolatey and tangy hint of cocoa nibs, as well as a salivating acidity and a good length. Lots of frapichuer and elegance in this wine.
