The nose is racy and reveals a nice finesse of grain as well as some finesse in its power. There are notes of blackberry, pepper and, to a lesser extent, spices/green pepper, combined with hints of crushed strawberry, blueberry, fine hints of lily, violet and a discreet touch of bergamot and fresh tobacco. The palate is mineral, balanced and offers juiciness, acidity, a nice body and concentration. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy blackberry, creamy blackcurrant and, more slightly, crushed raspberry, combined with hints of crushed blue berries, vanilla and chocolate, as well as fine notes of racy minerality, toastiness, a subtle, almost saline touch (terroir) and an imperceptible hint of coffee (in the background). The tannins are mellow.
