The wine has a pale ruby color with slight garnet reflections. The nose is fragrant, with subtle mineral and herbaceous notes (even with a hint of evolution in notes of wet leaves). The nose expresses in particular the aromas of dry pine needles, rosemary, fresh tobacco, wild mint in the background, wild rose, peony, a fine spiciness (nutmeg, white pepper, a touch of liquorice), enveloped in a juicy and fresh fruity substance (bigarreau cherry, raspberry, cranberries, red currant, a touch of crushed blueberry and wild blackberry), as well as a hint of dried cherry and toasted notes in the background. The palate is structured, with fine and powdery tannins, slightly cocoa-flavoured. It expresses notes of dried red cherry, raspberry, fresh bigarreau cherry, red currants, a fine spicy (cumin, licorice, white pepper) and floral (dried rose, peony) notes, as well as a hint of dried herbs (wild mint, a touch of hay), wet leaves and toast. The finish is sapid, persistent, slightly chocolatey. Beautiful salivating acidity which harmoniously completes the profile of the wine. Gourmandise, fleshiness and a beautiful structure of tannins, all in balance.
