Duorum – 2015 Reserva, Old Vines – Douro

The nose is elegant and offers power as well as concentration. It reveals notes of cassis, wild blackberry and small notes of ripe wild strawberry associated with touches of tonka bean / chocolate, small violet flowers as well as a very discreet hint of grove and Sichuan pepper. The mouth is juicy, mineral, fresh and offers a beautiful guideline, a beautiful mineral frame, a very slight acidulous (in the background), precision, a good definition as well as finesse. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy fleshy blackberry, fresh juicy cassis and small notes of juicy raspberry combined with small touches of fleshy Garriguette strawberry as well as hints of chocolate, licorice, black olive, sweet spices and an imperceptible hint of small violet flowers. Tannins are well-built and structuring. Good length. There are a very discreet hint of oak, dark chocolate and a very discreet hint of hazelnut on the finish / persistence. The aftertaste is slightly powerful. Gourmandise on the finish / persistence.
