The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is textured and gourmand: it opens with aromas of roasted red cherry, roasted raspberry, crushed fresh raspberry, wild strawberry and morello cherry in chocolate. Then there are the savory notes of spices and roasting (liquorice, nutmeg, vanilla, toasted hazelnut, toasted wood, sweet coffee, chocolate), combined with notes of tobacco and smoke, as well as hay and dried violet. The palate is silky, with fine tannins and a toasted and smoky attack. It expresses notes of toasted hazelnut, toasted wood, coffee, cocoa, as well as liquorice, nutmeg, crushed black pepper and fresh and dried fruits (dried red cherry, fresh red cherry, raspberry, crunchy strawberry, dried blackcurrant). There are also notes of tobacco and undergrowth. The finish is medium-length, tangy, with notes of hay and tobacco.
