Douro Prime, Inquieto Touriga Nacional 2018 – Douro

The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose is dense, concentrated and warm, with gourmet notes of dark chocolate and sweet spices. It expresses in particular the aromas of crushed fresh morello cherry, dried morello cherry, black plum, wild strawberry jam, as well as cherry jam, accompanied by spicy touches of liquorice, ground cloves, crushed coriander seeds and white pepper, a hint of tobacco, dry pine needles, fresh rose and violet, dried mint, coffee and toast, as well as a very delicate note of undergrowth and minerality (graphite) in the background. The palate expresses juiciness, notes of ripe fruit, as well as a nice acidity. It expresses the flavors of fresh morello cherry, dried morello cherry, bird cherry, black plum, chocolate prunes, wild strawberry jam, as well as touches of dried tobacco, dark chocolate, coffee, dried mint and a touch of smoke in the background, accompanied by a good bitterness. The tannins are grippy on the finish, but have a fine grain. A concentrated, straight and fresh wine, with a nice complexity.
