Domaine Stéphane De Sousa – Les Paquiers 2015 – Volnay

The nose is gourmand and offers a fine concentration as well as power. It reveals notes of black cherry, plum and slight notes of cassis associated with discreet touches of crushed cherry as well as a hint of liquorice stick, gray pepper and spices. The palate is fruity, gourmand, mineral, supple, well-balanced, suave, racy and offers a nice definition, a beautiful finesse, a bit aerial side, a slight acid frame as well as a nice fat. On the palate this wine expresses notes of black cherry, cassis and small hints of plum associated with slight hints of juicy redcurrants, discreet touches of liquorice, cardamom, black tea as well as an imperceptible touch of vanilla (in the background) and cocoa in the background / on the finish. Tannins are fine and supple. Good length.
