Domaine Stéphane de Sousa, Le Crétot à Gauche 2020 – Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is a little reserved, but juicy and fruity. It expresses aromas of bright red fruits (fresh raspberry, strawberry, red cherry, red currant), a hint of blueberry, a subtle note of Morello cherry jam, as well as fine touches of spices (cinnamon, white pepper, star anise in background), herbs (dried mint) and flowers (lilac, cornflower). There is also a very delicate smoky note. On the palate, the wine offers juiciness, lightness and airiness. It expresses flavors of tangy red and black fruits (Bigarreau cherry, cranberries, red currant, strawberry, blueberry), a hint of smoked meat, spices (white pepper, nutmeg) and fresh flowers (rose petal, cornflowers). The wine has a nice acidulous structure, slightly rough tannins, but softened by a salivating acidity, a good finish in the mouth and a persistent and fresh finish, on the expressive notes of red cherry.
