Domaine Santa Duc – Aux Lieux-dits 2013 – Gigondas

The nose reveals notes of crushed blackberry, cassis and slight notes of plum, cherry associated with discreet woody hints, a subtle hint of spices, thyme as well as an imperceptible hint of white pepper and leather. The wine needs to be decanted (carafe). The palate is fruity, juicy, gourmand, suave, round and offers a good volume. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, juicy plum and black cherry associated with hints of fleshy strawberry, raspberry as well as very discreet hints of garrigue/thyme and liquorice. Tannins are slightly dry. Good length. There are discreet hints of white pepper and a small suavity on the aftertaste.
