Domaine Rossignol-Trapet – Petite Chapelle 2020 – Gevrey-Chambertin

The nose is fruity, elegant and offers deepness and a small charming side. This wine needs to be decanted. It reveals notes of fresh blackberry, quite ripe/fresh small red fruits, crushed raspberry and small blue fruits associated with touches of lily, lilac, tonka beans, a subtle hint of cinnamon / spices. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, suavity, an acidulous frame, energy, a straight line / a certain straightness, a nice definition as well as a small roundness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh / pulpy blackberry, fresh / pulpy raspberry and small notes of fleshy fruits associated with a touch of small blue fruits, violet, lilac as well as fine hints of zan, discreet hints of varietal, tonka bean, cardamom, a hint of sweet spices and an imperceptible hint of dried herbs (in the background). Good length. Tannins are structuring, precise and mellow. A very discreet hint of dark chocolate, a fine chew and gourmandize on the finish / persistence. A very good persistence.
