Domaine Raimbault-Pineau Prestige, Cuvée « Lucien » 2020 – Sancerre

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The first nose expresses a fine woody and spicy hint – notes of lightly toasted wood, toasted almond, liquorice, nutmeg, a touch of coffee and clove, as well as dry pine bark. We also find a juicy and concentrated fruity material – morello cherry, red cherry, crushed raspberry, blueberry, blackcurrant and redcurrant, a fine floral bouquet (rose petals, peony, violet, dried cornflower) and a herbaceous touch in the background (tobacco, dried mint). The palate offers concentration and juiciness in finesse, a fresh fruity material (red cherry, morello cherry, raspberry, cranberries, redcurrants, a hint of bird cherry), associated with a pleasant chocolatey hint (bitter cocoa in the background, tangy cocoa nibs), a hint of fresh tobacco, blackcurrant leaf and mint. There is also a woody touch (lightly toasted wood, toasted almond) and spice (liquorice, nutmeg, clove). The tannins are fine, powdery and well structured. Good persistence in the mouth, with tangy notes of morello cherry and a good bitterness.
