Domaine Raimbault-Pineau, Héritage 2021 – Sancerre

The wine has a lemon yellow color, of medium intensity, with golden reflections. The nose is lively, tangy and expresses pronounced citrus notes – lime, lemon zest and grapefruit. After aeration, we find the sweet and gourmand aromas of ripe apricot, yellow peach, fresh pineapple, candied lemon peel, as well as linden honey, wax, sweet spices (vanilla , nutmeg, a hint of saffron), toasted hazelnut (even caramelized), almond praline in the background and toasted wood, combined with an airy floral scent of acacia, lime blossom and apple blossom. The attack on the palate is straight, firm and tangy, with a good bitterness of grapefruit and lime. It also expresses tangy flavors of green apple, green plum and gooseberries. In the mid-palate, the wine expresses the flavors of honey, wax, a touch of wet leaves and wilted flowers (which bring complexity), fresh and dried white flowers (fresh lime, dried chamomile, acacia), as well as as gourmet flavors of candied lemon peel, yellow peach, crunchy apricot, gooseberries and sweet spices (vanilla in the background, saffron, nutmeg, clove) and woody (fresh hazelnut, toasted hazelnut, fresh bitter almond, toasted wood in the background). The finish is chiselled, slightly bitter (lime), with a lively and salivating acidity, good length and complexity. Tension, energy and precision.
