The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers concentration, a certain density (even a textured touch) and a racy minerality, which dominates the nose before aeration (limestone, dry stone, earthy). Then, we find the gourmand and slightly sweet aromas of juicy morello cherry, crushed wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, redcurrant jelly, blackcurrant jam, fresh black plum, as well as slightly sweet floral aromas (iris, peony, an airy touch of wild rose), pine needles, mint chocolate in the background and liquorice. The palate is solid, even firm, with grippy but fine tannins, a good bitterness and a rather reserved sapidity (the wine still needs to open up). It expresses notes of tangy fruits (bigarreaux cherry, morello cherry, blackcurrant, raspberry), a tannic and slightly bitter touch of bird cherry, as well as blackcurrant leaf in the background, dried mint, violet, iris and wild rose, as well as liquorice and a racy mineral framework (dry limestone, hint of graphite). The finish is quite persistent, tangy and slightly bitter.
