Domaine Paul Janin – Vieilles Vignes des Greneriers 2010 – Moulin-à-Vent

The nose is nicely aromatic, elegant and offers finesse, gourmandise as well as a beautiful freshness / minerality. It reveals notes of fresh wild blackberry, fresh strawberry and slight notes of cassis associated with subtle touches of dark chocolate, a hint of wood as well as a subtle hint of undergrowth, hazelnut (very discreet) and an imperceptible hint of violet. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a nice mineral frame, a beautiful suavity / gourmandise, a slight acid frame, harmony, freshness as well as a beautiful finesse. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed blackberry and fresh / crushed Gariguette strawberry associated with slight notes of raspberry, tonka bean / cocoa as well as touches of toasted oak and a subtle hint of hazelnut on the finish / aftertaste. Tannins are fine and very slightly chewy. Beautiful length.
