Domaine Paul Janin – Heritage 2016 – Moulin-à-Vent

The nose is fruity, gourmand, elegant and offers a slight richness as well as a slight concentration. It reveals notes of crushed redcurrant, crushed strawberry and slight notes of cassis, small fresh berries associated with a subtle hint of violet as well as discreet hints of liquorice and an imperceptible hint of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fruity, elegant, gourmande, a bit tight and offers a nice definition / purity, a nice fleshy fruit as well as a nice freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh blackberry, fresh strawberry and slight notes of cassis associated with discreet touches of cherry / red berries, liquorice as well as an imperceptible touch of tobacco, pepper (in the background) and a very discreet touch of bitterness / bitter cocoa on the finish. Tannins are a bit chewy. Good length. (2019+)
