The wine has a pale ruby colour. The nose offers concentration and slightly jammy fruity aromas. It expresses notes of Morello cherry jam and fresh Morello cherry, blueberry, fresh blackcurrant, raspberry coulis, crushed strawberry and fresh wild strawberry. The spicy and herbal notes are discreet and delicate: there is a touch of white pepper, liquorice, dried peppermint and chocolate mint. There is also the sweetness of dark chocolate, kirsch cherry, smoked meat and nutmeg, and a very light note of undergrowth in the background. On the palate, the wine is bright and juicy: it expresses the flavours of fresh and candied ripe red fruit (fresh and candied Morello cherry, blueberry, blackcurrant, black currant liqueur, fresh blackberry, blueberry jam), accompanied by refreshing notes of peppermint, liquorice, star anise and the sweetness of dark chocolate, cocoa, cinnamon and clove. Round on the palate, with fine, but present, tannins. A persistent, fresh, fruity, tasty, slightly meaty finish with lively acidity. Beautiful complexity and balance.
