The wine has a medium ruby colour. The nose offers richness, depth and complexity. There is a sweet, slightly candied fruitiness and lots of fresh ripe fruit: Morello cherry, blackberry, blue plum, blueberry jam, fresh blackcurrant, wild strawberry, red currant jam and raspberry coulis. There are also fresh notes of peppermint, liquorice, menthol and delicate, integrated spicy and roasted touches: cloves, ground coffee, bitter cocoa, cinnamon and a hint of star anise. An elegant floral edge in the background – aromas of blueberry and dried rose petals. On the palate, ripe fruit flavours (Morello cherry, red cherry, blueberry, blackcurrant, strawberry, raspberry), complemented by sweet spices (liquorice, cinnamon, clove), a hint of pepper and delicate notes of fresh flowers (lilac, blueberry). The tannins are young, a little raspy and clinging, but the wine is well balanced thanks to the persistent fruitiness on the palate and a salivating acidity. Good length, good ageing potential, to be seen in several years.
