The wine has a medium-intensity ruby color with purple highlights. The nose is reserved and requires aeration. It then expresses notes of dense black fruits (morello cherry, blackcurrant, black plum, a touch of bird cherry), a touch of wild raspberry and red cherry, associated with notes of peppermint, blackcurrant leaf (in the background), a very slight hint of smoke (even meaty) and dried rose. The palate is tight, with a reserved attack, on a fine bitterness and slightly grippytannins. It expresses notes of dried morello cherry, red cherry, bird cherry, blackcurrant, tart strawberry and wild raspberry. There are also light touches of liquorice, smoke as well as aherbaceous hint of blackcurrant leaf and dried mint. The finish is moderately persistent and expresses a slight bitterness, as well as a salivating acidity.
