Domaine Lecompte, Folie Douce 2020 – Châteaumeillant

The wine has a pale ruby color, with very light garnet reflections. The nose offers concentration, freshness and spiciness, which combine in harmony. It expresses notes of wild strawberry, compote red cherry, fresh morello cherry, crushed blackcurrant, blueberry, as well as a touch of blackberry and wild plum in the background. We also find freshness, expressed by the aromas of wild mint and menthol, as well as subtle spicy notes: licorice, white pepper, cloves, nutmeg, as well as floral touches of lily and lilac. On the palate, the wine offers sapidity, accuracy and well-structured, but melted tannins. It expresses the flavors of roasted red cherry, morello cherry, wild blackberry, wild strawberry, crushed blackcurrant in the background, as well as a refined and integrated spiciness(clove, white pepper, licorice). Delicate notes of barrel aging (toasted, mild coffee, a touch of toasted vanilla and caramel) appear on the finish, complemented by slightly sweet floral notes (iris, peony). A gourmet, harmonious, ripe and warm wine, withpower, persistence and complexity.
