The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers density, complexity and concentration, all with finesse. It expresses notes of ripe morello cherry, dried red cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, crushed fresh raspberry and black plum, combined with distinct but enveloped aromas of sweet spices (black pepper, nutmeg, licorice, clove), as well as a touch of leather, tobacco, toast and a floral touch in the background (dried rose, violet, iris). We also find a racy minerality (graphite, rock) which is expressed in the second nose. The palate is silky, full and delicious, even fleshy. It expresses notes of ripe morello cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry jam, roasted red cherry, a touch of prunes in the background, combined with notes of dark chocolate and morello cherry jam, which brings a pleasant sweetness to the palate. We also find spicy notes of nutmeg, liquorice, white pepper and cloves, combined with a touch of roasted bouquet garni, toasted hazelnut and a floral bouquet (dried rose, iris, violet). The tannins are powerful, a bit grippy, but soft and melted and bring a beautiful structure to the wine. The finish is persistent and savoury, with notes of dark chocolate, sweet spices and roasted aromatic herbs, balanced by a salivating acidity.
