Domaine La Madura Classic – 2020, Saint-Chinian

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity with slight purple reflections. The aromas of medium (+) intensity are open and fruity, with a touch of sweetness. It reveals notes of jammy strawberries, cherry in chocolate and sour cherry macerated in kirsch, as well as a slight hint of grenadine and elderberry syrup. On the second nose, fine touches of chocolate mint and smoke appear. On the palate, the flavors of the wine are fresh and fruity. In particular, there are notes of tart red cherry, red plum, and raspberry. The fruit on the palate is complemented by a note of smoked meat and dried aromatic herbs (mint, thyme). The wine has a medium body and high acidity, which balances its tight tannins. The wine has a good firm tannic structure, which needs time to soften.
