The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose offers density, concentration, fruit and roasted notes. It expresses aromas of morello cherry, roasted red cherry, wild strawberry, roasted raspberry, dried blackcurrant and dried cherry, combined with savory notes of sweet spices (liquorice, white pepper, crushed coriander seeds), a distinct roasted hint (toasted almond, toasted bread), as well as herbal and floral touches (fresh mint, peony), which appear after aeration. The palate is silky, but structured, with an enveloping texture and fine but tight tannins. It expresses the tangy flavors of red cherry, cranberry, raspberry, tart strawberry, as well as blueberry, blackcurrant and wild blackberry (which is expressed more on the finish). There are also notes of sweet spices (licorice, white pepper, nutmeg), dried mint, violet and a hint of roasting (toasted hazelnut, a touch of heated wood). Good length, on the note of roasted bouquet garni and a salivating acidity.
