Domaine Guy & Yvan Dufouleur, Les Crots 2021 – Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is discreet and requires aeration. It then expresses concentration, fleshy fruit, even slightly sweet, but fresh. We find notes of morello cherry, black plum, cherry and chocolate mint, wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, cornflower, fresh wild flowers, rose petals, associated with spicy and roasted notes, delicate and integrated (licorice, cloves, a touch of black pepper, smoke and toasted hazelnut), as well as a note of bay leaf and fresh tobacco. On the palate, the attack is juicy and airy, concentrated and fruity, with a note of torrefaction and smoke in the background. The wine also expresses flavors of tangy but ripe red fruits (red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, a hint of garnet juice and red currant, as well as a tangy touch of blackcurrant), complemented by notes of sweet spices. (licorice, cloves), smoke, and a touch of roasted meat, which appear in the finish. We also find notes of dried rose, cornflower, toast and roasted aromatic herbs. Good concentration, finesse and airiness associated with a certain richness. The tannins are fine, with a touch of bitterness. Good length, on spices, a touch of salinity and a good level of acidity.
