The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is aromatic and offers freshness, juiciness and a ripe and concentrated fruity notes. It expresses gourmet aromas of morello cherry in chocolate, ripe wild strawberry, raspberry jam, crushed fresh raspberry, elderberry syrup, wild blackberry and black plum in the background, combined with notes of roasted bouquet garni, dried mint, dried tobacco, dry pine needles, subtle tertiary notes in the background (wet leaves, undergrowth), sweet spices (liquorice, even with a fine hint of anise, coriander seeds, cumin ground) and dried flowers (dried rose, dried peony), as well as a hint of dried mint in the background. The palate offers a nice concentration of flavors and complexity. It expresses notes of very ripe fresh fruits and jammed fruits (red cherry jam, roasted red cherry, juicy morello cherry, wild strawberry, roasted raspberry, wild blackberry), associated with notes of sweet spices (ground cloves, liquorice with a fine hint of anise, coriander seeds), dried mint, dried rose, dried peony, as well as a touch of undergrowth and wet leaves in the background. The tannins are slightly grippy, but fine-grained and balanced by a lively acidity. The finish is persistent, gourmand, fruity and chocolatey, with a hint of fresh tobacco in the background. Complexity, depth, power, all in control.
