Domaine Guy & Yvan Dufouleur, Corton Grand Cru « Renardes» 2022 – Corton Grand Cru

The wine has a pale ruby ​​color. The nose is delicately perfumed, concentrated and complex, airy and elegant, rather reserved at first, but benefits from aeration. It then offers the roasted and savory spicy hint, but subtle in their notes of toasted hazelnut (even pecan), heated wood, roasted bouquet garni, a touch of roasted coriander seeds and toasted bread in the background. There are also notes of dried liquorice, nutmeg, a hint of fresh vanilla and clove, associated with a sweet touch of dark chocolate. The airy notes of violet, lilac and peppermint bring freshness to the profile of the wine. The fruity material on the nose is gourmand, fresh and juicy: we find notes of fresh morello cherry, red cherry, wild strawberry, wild blackberry, raspberry and blueberry, complemented by a hint of dried cassis. The palate is tight, tangy, with a good bitterness on the attack (the attack seems closed). In the mid-palate the wine opens up and offers notes of tart red cherry, morello cherry, dried red cherry, red currants, tart strawberry, wild blackberry and dried blackcurrant, combined with a nice herbaceous freshness (dried peppermint, thyme, rosemary, a hint of blackcurrant leaf), a gourmand and elegant spiciness (Sichuan pepper, liquorice, vanilla in the background, nutmeg), as well as integrated and subtle roasted touches (toasted hazelnut, toasted almond). The finish offers precision, accuracy, a good bitterness and salivating acidity, as well as a hint of coffee and cocoa in the background. The tannins are solid, slightly grippy, but fine. The finish is persistent, juicy and tangy, with notes of morello cherry and red cherry. An airy and fresh wine, concentrated, but closed for the moment.
