Domaine Ghislain Kohut 2017 – Echezeaux Grand Cru

The nose is elegant, aromatic and offers deepness, an aromatic purity as well as subtilty in its power. It reveals notes of wild cassis, ripe violet plum, small notes of camphor associated with small touches of blackberry, violet as well as hints of zan, pencil leaf/graphite, cooked black cherry as well as hints of sweet spices, sugared mild tobacco and toasted hazelnut. The palate is elegant, gourmand, beautifully defined and offers precision/acidulous/a beautiful acidulous frame, power/structure (but full of elegance and control) and a small racy minerality. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/ripe cassis, crushed cherry, small notes of fleshy violet plum associated with small touches of raspberry, violet, graphite as well as a subtle hint of zan, a racy minerality, a discreet hint of chocolate and an imperceptible hint of sense of the place (local biotope). Good length.
