Domaine Georges Joillot Beaune, Montagne Saint Désiré 2022 – Beaune

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is fragrant, captivating, with ripe, fleshy fruit, with hints of roast. It expresses notes of roasted red cherry, roasted raspberry, fresh morello cherry, crunchy strawberry, crushed blueberry, and fresh raspberry. After aeration, notes of dried mint, dried blackcurrant leaf, liquorice, nutmeg, white pepper, as well as a touch of roasting (toasted hazelnut, smoke) and a hint of macerated cherry emerge. The palate is straight, tangy, with a fruity and gourmand attack: it expresses flavors of red cherry, raspberry, blueberry, red currant, as well as peony, blackcurrant leaf in the background and a delicate spicy and toasted side (licorice, nutmeg, toasted wood, toasted hazelnut). Tannins are very fine and delicate. Good length, with fruity gourmandise and refreshing acidity.
